My closet has plenty of things, and while I own multiples of the very same design (read: lots of slip dresses, pants, blouses, you get the idea), I own a ridiculous quantity of skirts. Like, it’s so ridiculous that I have numerous, however I truly wear each one– all the time. The staple is a summer season, fall, winter, and spring necessary, which, in my opinion, validates the large number I own. However, since adding one specific skirt choice to my closet, I’ve semi-neglected all my others.
Pleated skirts! Leather skirts! A simple black maxi skirt, which I just spotted on Kristen Stewart, too.
The starlet was photographed out in New York, and to state her clothing screams “I’m cool and I understand it!” would be an understatement. Stewart is understood for her edgy design, and her latest look is no expectation. She wore a cropped white tee emblazoned with the expression Camp Stewart on it (cute), a dependable leather coat that’s ideal for the complicated in-between weather, crisp white tennis shoes, and last but not least, that black maxi skirt that’s going to be your most-worn piece, too.

If you keep in mind, the denim maxi skirt had a huge renaissance last year. And while we’re still seeing substantial things for this floor-length jean model, a black maxi is an invited addition into your spring 2024 skirt lineup. It’s simple, duh, and as I can tell you firsthand, this simplicity lends itself to exceptionally easy using. As in, I’ve used it with everything from sweatshirts and sneakers for a more low-key look to fitted black bodysuits and knee-high boots for a night at the ballet. Think of the black maxi skirt like a dependable black tee: There are endless methods to use it.
I like how Stewart opted for a somewhat edgy styling with hers, choosing the abovementioned tee, leather jacket, tennis shoes, and a baseball cap, but here’s the kicker: A couple of hours later, the starlet was identified in the very same skirt, however this time, she switched the tee for a hot fringe halter top and the sneakers for black pumps. It’s day-to-night done right, if I do say so myself.
