Before beginning my very first office task right out of college, my mom took me to a Loft. There, I begrudgingly tried on unflattering cigarette pants and blouses that made my then 21-year-old self sad. It was my first introduction to “service outfit” and it was, to put it candidly, bleak. Whatever felt stiff, outdated, and unwearable beyond those hours I was clocked into work. That was my last strict-dress-code workplace task, which means I haven’t once believed about this way of dressing since. In some way, I’ve caught myself reviewing the genre I thought I had actually written off for great, and it’s all because of Naomi Campbell.
Her three-piece appearance brought contemporary, feminine touches to work staples. And, poking out from beneath the coat was a smooth black button-down blouse that was both sophisticated and sexy.
Frame the Standard Silk Shirt
When I was forced to wear workplace clothing, blouses were the bane of my presence. Materials looked (and felt) inexpensive, feminine touches like ruffles were included haphazardly, and absolutely nothing felt versatile sufficient to wear exterior of work. Looking at Campbell’s silk top, I felt compelled to include one to my closet.
The blouse and jeans completely balance out each other, while the heels stress the sexiness of the appearance. Store more silk button-downs motivated by Campbell’s modern organization look, below.
